Pork Gang's Xmas Dinner

I heart porkgang! :) We had a fantastic Pre-Christmas dinner meal before the Heineken Sponsored Party, exclusively for the Porkgang. The 13 of us (minus Rachel and Ruby because they came over late) had to rush up to finish our Xmas dinner, which was accompanied by Scrambled Eggs and Macaroni (dun understand the pun? Go ask Kim :P) - just the perfect concoction for the perfect Xmas Dinner.

I ish feeling the love yo! :D

So me and Kim undertook the tasks of cooking and preparing for the dinner, whilst the rest just contributed their share for the dinner and enjoyed what was served to them.

I cooked the Penne Carbonara with Bacon (check out the recipe HERE)and the Bread and Butter pudding. The bread and butter pudding was handed on to me thanks to Mellissa, thanks a bunch babes! It's an awesomesauce recipe! And Kim was incharged to make sure that #porkgang has a healthy intake of greens in their staple pork diet. Thanks Kim! :)

We pre-ordered our 4.5gkgs worth of Turkey from Fogal's Meatmarket at Hartamas Shopping Centre and the Rosted Pork (siew yoke) from Hungry Hogs. Entice you with yummy pics :)

Sakae Sushi at Pavilion

Japanese food is one of my all time favorite food, so I sometimes crave for it like everyday, not funny at all because Japanese Sushi bars all seem to have the same thing all the time but not all of them are up to par. E

g: I like Sakae Sushi cos of the Mogu-Mogu drink, I hate Sushi King, I used to love Genki Sushi for the Hana Maki (until they reduced the 4 maki's to become 3), I Love Sushi Zenmai for the Unagi Kabayaki and Sushi Tei for the fried chicken skin and super fresh Salmon.

Not one of them seem to have it all in one, so that's the reason why we have tons of them and making me crave for different things at different times :P

Mogu Mogu Grape RM 6.90

Tempura Prawn Maki Wrapped with Crepe RM 5.90

The Christmas Special Maki RM 9.90

My all time favourite Hana Maki RM 5.90

Kakiage, a mixture of tempura fried vegetables RM 1.90

Tori Karaage RM 6.90

Forgot the name of the dish but it's one of my all time favorite dish in Japanese restaurants. The first Jap restaurant to serve this was actually the one at Tropicana City Mall; Sushi Tei. This one doesn't taste as good and is a bit too spicy, like as if they dumped a whole bottle of Japanese pepper on it -______-

Penne Carbonara and Bacon

Firstly, get a huge pot and fill it up with water and let it boil.

After the water is a bit warmed up, start adding in the Penne into the boiled water and add a bit of salt so that the water hear will pump up higher. It really works, like how they teached you in Science class.

Whilst the penne is boiling, get busy and start preparing your other ingredients, such as the bacon and the parmesan cheese

This is 400grams worth of Applewood Bacon, which costs RM7.99 per 100 grams if I'm not mistaken. It's quite ex but the bacon is very fragrant and really juicy. I have realized that for this recipe, you really can't stinch on the bacon as it plays a HUGE role in how the end result is.

This Parmesan cheese brand is the best, grated Parmesan would be easier to melt

After the Penne is boiled, add some butter to the penne so that it wouldn't stick to the bottom of the pot whilst you are busy preparing the other ingredients. Also note that the butter will help marinade the penne a bit. Just a teenie wensie bit.

Frying the bacon *woolalala*

And at the meantime, I take a huge bowl OR in this case a pot, as I was busy preparing for a party of 15 people (trust me, 400 grams of bacon wasn't enough, I actually went to top up with another 300 grams - FOL) and warm it up like really really warm and then take 6 eggs and crack it into the pot and let it warm for a while.

Like this. :)

And then you add in all the cheese that you need. In this case, I added 1.5 packets of Parmesan cheese and start stirring and mixing the eggs together. Don't worry about the eggs being raw because immediately after mixing the eggs, you pour in the super hot Penne, which will cook up the egg as well as melt the cheese.

To add more flavour, you can dump the bacon into the Penne pot and start cooking it together and then dump it into the pot with eggs and parmesan.

Final step, add McCormick;s Black Pepper seasoning with salt to taste, this is based on individual preference.

Tadaaaaaa the final result :) all ready and yummy to serve your friends and family. Definitely slurpilicious.
